Fees Payment
All course fees must be paid in full, five days prior to the commencement of the course.

All courses require a minimum number of participants to run.  In the event of minimum course numbers not being reached, participants will be advised of transfer or refund options.

Withdrawal Policies

All withdrawals must be in writing

Workshops

Where the student withdraws from the course and notifies the school in writing 48 hours or more prior to the course commencing, South Seas will refund to the student (via the school's Trustee) any fees paid, less an administration charge of NZ$20. Students withdrawing after this period will not be eligible for any refund.

Short Courses
Where the student withdraws from the course and notifies the school in writing five working days or more prior to the course commencing, South Seas will refund to the student (via the school's Trustee) any fees paid, less an administration charge of NZ$20. Students withdrawing after this period will not be eligible for any refund.

Travel & Accommodation Arrangements
South Seas Film & Television School accepts no responsibility for any arrangements entered into by participants on their courses for any travel and accommodation requirements. The responsibility for these services remains with the student.

Production & Safety Requirements

  1. Course participants are required to adhere to the school's safety requirements at all times and to adhere to the production requirements for your projects as set by the tutors.
  2. Course participants are responsible for the security of all equipment when out in the field. Any loss or damage incurred as a result of neglect or unsafe practices will be charged to the person concerned.
  3. All films must be shot within a 20 minute driving radius of the school (this includes the central city area) and within the requirements of the relevant city bylaws.

Please Note:
If a course particpant wishes to film in a public area that requires a fee then they will be required to meet these costs.

Anyone driving a school vehicle must produce a current full licence, be over 25 years of age, and drive to the speed limit. Any parking or speeding tickets will be charged to the driver.

In little over a year Jeffrey Ruha went from being a school boy to successfully completing an industry training course and then working as an editor in the NZ television industry. “As a young Māori boy I worried about making my way in life. Later at school in I used to dream about working in the industry. Now I’m no longer worried and thanks to South Seas I’m enjoying the thrill of living my dream.”
