Film & Television Production Course Curriculum
The Film and TV production course (FTV) is designed to provide students with practical and industry-relevant skills as well as operational practices combined with theoretical knowledge.

During term 1, students receive a comprehensive introduction to all the essential skills required in the film & television industry.  Students also acquire a working knowledge of all the many skill areas, and an understanding of their inter-relationship with each other.

During the remaining terms 2, 3 and 4 of the FTV course students select to specialise in one of the following six main specialist skill fields which have a maximum number of positions available:
(i) Production Management (with maximum 24 places)
(ii) Drama Directing/Scriptwriting (24 places)
(iii) Documentary Directing/Research (16 places)
(iv) Film/Video Camera Operating/Lighting/Audio
(v)  Post Production Editing (24 places)
(vi) Art and Design (16 places)

Students are required to select a specialist area but must compete for one of the available positions and prove that they have the right commitment and aptitude to earn a position which will enable them to obtain advanced skill levels in their chosen field.

The process by which students are accepted in each specialist skill replicates the competitive nature of the Film & TV industry and is based on a process of ongoing creative, technical and personal skill assessments in Term 1.

Click on the links below for detailed curriculum information on each of the specialist skills areas.
