Amie Bentall

Coming from a background of stage acting, when Amie moved into the world of film it was firstly as an actor. However she soon found that she was drawn more to the world behind the camera, so she changed tact and studied Documentary Directing and Drama Directing/Scriptwriting at South Seas Film & Television School in 2015.

She discovered a love for story telling across both styles, and when it came to drama, she particularly delighted in working with the actors. She still acts when she can, and she finds this so helpful in informing her directing style.

After leaving South Seas Amie did an internship with Sky, and then worked at Notable Pictures as a PA on Loading Docs, Arranged and Both Worlds. She then went on to Greenstone TV and worked on Decades in Colour as a PA and Edit Assist.

After Greenstone TV, Amie assisted edited on a feature documentary. Currently Amie is an editor on My Kitchen Rules.

Outside of “real work”, Amie was a finalist for Best Female Filmmaker in the international Rode Reel competition for her short film ‘Swing’ that she both wrote and directed.

Amie also directed and edited a web series ‘All Bi Myself’ that is online now.
