James French

South Seas graduate James FrenchFor Art Department major James French, his year at South Seas opened up worlds that most only dream of.

James’s determination and passion was already evident as a student, and ended up carrying him to Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop where he worked with Oscar award winning art director Richard Taylor on the miniatures that brought King Kong’s Skull Island to life.

From his first job as Art Director on the children’s TV science series Suzy’s World, to crafting elements from the beloved worlds of King Kong, Narnia and Zorro, James has truly found his niche in the industry.

In James’ own words, “The experience of the one year full on practical course at South Seas gave me the confidence to try anything.”
