The South Seas Film & Television School’s Diploma in Film and Television Production course is the New Zealand's leading course for people wanting to establish careers in the NZ Film and Television industry.
The course provides intensive, practical, hands-on training in all essential production skills including:
Film and Digital Video Camera Operating; Film and Video Lighting; Sound Recording; Drama Directing and Script Writing; Documentary Directing and Research; Production Planning and Management; Post Production Editing; Sound Post Production; On Screen Acting and Directing of Actors; Art and Design Department skills including set dressing, standby props, story boarding, scenic art finishing and set designing.
In addition, South Seas provides training in a wide range of Television Multi-Camera Studio production skills including:
studio and outside broadcasting multi-camera operating; multi-camera directing; floor managing; TPA co-ordinating; vision mixing; audio mixing; auto-cue operating; technical operations and graphics operating.
Students receive training in a comprehensive range of the above skills in terms 1 and 2 and then select a major specialist skill to continue on for advanced training in terms 3 and 4.
