Jesse Burt, tells us about his recent employment at TVNZ.
Graduating in 2011, Jesse Burt's endurance has paid off into landing a job at TVNZ as he works his way up the ladder at this New Zealand network powerhouse.
Jesse tells us a bit about his efforts:
" I originally applied for a production trainee role at TVNZ, but unfortunately didn't succeed in landing that role, but they loved my persistence and asked me if I wanted a job in a position that 'lucky for me' became available."
" I am the operations trainee, which means I work alongside alot of cameraman, producers and presenters and basically doing what they want. I will be trained in all areas of Camera, Lights & Audio, which is kind of like getting paid to do CLA at Southseas. I will take my knowledge from this opportunity into producing because that is my favoured department."
" My main goal is to one day be a presenter, but I strive to become a respected producer because I want to know if I never make it as a presenter I have always got something else I enjoy to fall-back on. "
" South seas helped me understand how the media industry operates and most importantly taught me how to land a job afterwards.. at the end of the day its the graduates that are persistent in finding work who will get it. When starting out in the media industry I think you must always remember 'The Squeaky wheel gets the grease'! "
