South Seas recently celebrated the acting achievements of the school’s 2012 On Screen Acting (OSA) course students with its annual Actors Showcase.
The event held in the evening of Wednesday the 23rd of November was attended by leading Auckland actors agents and invited industry guests as well as South Seas OSA course graduates, 2012 OSA and Film & TV course students, tutors and staff. The evening started with drinks and nibbles so that everyone had a chance to get to know each other. OSA course director Johnny Givens then hosted an entertaining showcase which combined personal presentations by each of the students followed by a short compilation show reel of their acting work throughout the year and finally the viewing of professionally recorded scenes from well known films featuring the actors. These scenes were directed by either Johnny or Maya Dalziel who are both tutors on the course.
The quality of the actors scenes ensured that the acting performances of all the OSA students was showcased very effectively to all the agents and guests who attended the evening. The scenes and the acting editing compilation highlights for each student were assembled on individual DVD show reels which were available for agents and guests to take away.
Also available were copies of the 2012 actors showcase booklet which has information and profiles of all the actors accompanied by high quality portrait head shot photographs that had been taken by the schools photography students.
All in all the evening was a most enjoyable and entertaining occasion as can be seen from the photographs taken that night, by South Seas Photography Student, Kristina Eriksson.
