In 2008 Bella Gavelin became the first student from Sweden to enrol at South Seas. After completing the Film and Television production course during which she specialised in camera and lighting, Bella returned to Sweden where she worked as a freelance camera assistant. Recently Bella contacted South Seas school director Gerben Cath to enthusiastically let him know the good news about her latest job.

“Hi Gerben, I’ve just got back from an amazing overseas trip and thought I should brag a bit! I was working as camera assistant on assignment for National Geographic Magazine and spent 2 weeks in Vietnam. I can't talk exactly about what we did there until the article comes out late 2012.”
“I got this job through my boss, Mattias Klum, who is a National Geographic photographer and also a fellow of the National Geographic Society. When you have time take a look at all the other things he has done on his web site:
www.mattiasklum.com “
“I have known Mattias since I did an internship with him in grade school and got my fulltime job with him at the beginning of this year. Now I am doing all kinds of work including picture and film editing, assisting in the field (both still and film) and running the office. I am really enjoying all the work and it looks as though there will be more field assignments in the future!”
“I can't think of anything that would top this! Thank you for making my dreams come true! I hope the school is going well and you all are doing good! Please give my best wishes to all the staff especially Ben my camera and lighting tutor.”
Swedish love, Bella Gavelin
