Rebekah Palmer

Rebekah Palmer - South Seas Film & TV SchoolWhat year did you graduate South Seas?

I graduated South Seas (OSA) at the end of 2012.

How has South Seas equipped you for the industry?

We were given so much ‘on set’ training through working with the other departments at South Seas that, when finally on a professional set, I was able to know what was going on at all times and act to my full potential. I also think South Seas were really honest about the realities of the industry and how hard you have to work to get your name out there. Through the OSA industry night I was signed with an agent so was straight into auditions and on the path to following my dreams of becoming an actor as soon as I graduated.

What are some highlights of your career so far?

I was lucky enough to come out of OSA and into a lead role on David Blyth’s feature film Ghost Bride. I’ve also done a commercial and short films through networks made during South Seas.

What’s one thing you would tell current acting students?

Its tough out there!! Don’t forget why you are pursuing this career, it’s easy to give up when you don’t get roles, or there is no money in the bank so remember why or how much you love what your doing. Keep your chin up!

What do you love most about the work you do?

I love that I can be anyone I want. I can scream or shout or laugh or cry and maybe through the work I do I will touch one person’s heart. That is a feeling you just can’t explain!
